What and where did I preach while in England?

I had the privilege of preaching on the Lord’s Day at Maidenbower Baptist Church in Crawley, England.  A dear and sweet congregation with two very gifted pastors—the father and son pair of Austin and Jeremy Walker.  One of the defining qualities of this faithful church is the way they hold fast to Christ in the midst of so many in the congregation who have and continue to suffer from cancer, life-long physical struggles, and numerous other physically debilitating conditions.  Having learned of these realities from staying with Austin Walker a few days, it seemed appropriate to preach, Mark 5, where Jesus heals the woman with the hemorrhage and raises Jarius’s daughter from the dead.  A very warm and receptive congregation.  It was a joy to gather with them on the Lord’s Day.

You can hear this sermon, Jesus is sovereign over sickness and death, from Mark 5 preached at Maidenbower Baptist Church by clicking here.  Austin and Jeremy Walker are also published authors and you can buy their books…

–          A Portrait of Paul (Jeremy Walker)

–          Caring for Widows (Austin Walker)

–          The Excellent Benjamin Keach (Austin Walker) Out of print, but hopefully will be back in soon.

You can also read some of Jeremy’s thoughts on our visit by reading his blog post.  I would also commend his blog to any of you unfamiliar with Jeremy and his writing and preaching ministry.
