Book Recommendation…for the pastor’s encouragement.

If you would have told me that there existed a biblical, faithful, African-American pastor shepherding a predominantly white congregation in the north pre-civil war…I would have thought you were crazy.  This is why my dear friend, Thabiti Anyabwile has done us a great service by writing, The Faithful Preacher, and exposing us to the incredible lives and ministries of these 3 pioneer African-American pastors.  This book is a great balance of a short biographical sketch of each man, which flows into a few of their most important individual works the author has carefully chosen.  The faithfulness and fruitfulness of these men is truly inspiring to read about as they served during a time which made it a great challenge to be an African-American shepherd of Christ’s people.

Whether you are a pastor or not, I highly recommend this book for your encouragement.  You can find it on sale here.
