Book Recommendation…for the pastor’s local church

One of the greatest gifts God has given me was a providential meeting with Mark Dever over 15 years ago.  As a result, Mark’s instruction, care, counsel, and friendship have been what has molded my convictions about what a pastor is and what the local church is called to be more than any other single influence.  In short, I am a pastor because of Mark’s influence.  I love the local church because of Mark’s contagious passion for it.  Mark’s book, What is a Healthy Church? captures the heart of Mark’s passion for the local church and what God’s design is for it.  This book is a condensed version of Mark’s classic book, 9 Marks of a Healthy Church, to make his timeless, biblical insights on the church more accessible.  If you haven’t read this book, it is a must read.  If you have read it, then I would encourage you to buy it in bulk, keep plenty on your shelf, and give it away to any church member who desires to pursue God’s biblical design for your church (that’s what I do).  You can buy it on sale here.
