Book Recommendation…for the pastor’s family

Love That LastsThe heart of summer means one thing for many pastors…weddings.  Because of this, I thought it would be helpful to bring to your attention Love That Lasts by Gary and Betsy Ricucci.  Along with When Sinners Say I Do (Dave Harvey), this book is most commonly recommended by me to those preparing for marriage, newlyweds, and even long timers who want to strengthen their marriage.  The Ricuccis deal with issues like roles, communication and intimacy with the aim to be faithful to the gospel in the process.  They also have some helpful, practical tools in the back.  If you are a pastor looking for a resource to take a couple through pre-marital counseling…this book deserves your consideration.  If you are a Christian and attending a wedding in the near future, this book will serve them well as a gift.  You can find it on sale here.

Hey Brian. This is the book at Providence uses for premarital. I’ve not read it yet. I read When Sinners Say I Do a long time ago. Hopefully EC will pick it up! I think he is. I’m reading What Did You Expect by Tripp right now and am really being challenged by that!
    See you soon.

If you had to choose just one of these books for pre-engagement counseling, which one would you recommend? Is there a different book that you would recommend for a couple considering engagement?

I would say, “When sinners say I do” would be the best one for engagement. More geared for those entering marriage vs. those already in it.
