Book Recommendation…for the pastor’s preaching

We want to be careful anytime we label a book and classic, but Martyn Lloyd-Jones’ Preaching and Preachers is without a doubt a classic. This is why this 40th anniversary edition has just been released that contains the original book, plus essays from preachers like Mark Dever, John Piper, Kevin DeYoung, Bryan Chapell, and others.  If you are a preacher and have not read this book, you need to place it on the top of your stack.  If you read it years ago and your old copy is falling apart, this is a great time to get a new one with some additional work from some excellent modern preachers.  Few books are remembered after 40 years.  I am convinced the impact of this book will cause it to be around 140 years from now.

You can find it on sale here.

  1. I have been reading this book on my Kindle Fire for the last several weeks. Its one of the best books on preaching and the preacher. I would say every young man who thinks God has called hm to preach read this book first. And I have Lloyd-Jones set on Romans that I use as well. He and John MacArthur are two great preachers who know how to live and preach.
