Book Recommendation…for the pastor’s wife

I receive many books from publishers to review.  I would like to read more of them, but time does not allow.  I do get to a few of them and even pass an occasional one on to my wife to read.  The Girlfriends Guide Book by Marian Jordan is one such book.  In a sense, this is a recommendation from me through my wife, but fear not.  My wife’s judgment is consistently more sound than mine.  She was very pleased, even pleasantly surprised by the amount of depth and biblical wisdom it contained not just about friendship, but specifically about an area that most of us pastors dare not tread…female friendship!  Jordan dissects the challenges and sins that often accompany friendship with even Christian ladies, how to apply God’s truth to them, and does so with the reader’s heart to be evaluated first.  My wife just led a women’s retreat on friendship and this book acted as one of her helpful tools of preparation.  Pastors, be warned.  It is a “girl’s book” but a good one.  My encouragement would be to get it for your wife and let her read it for you to assess its value for your church.  You can find it on sale here.

Looks interesting. Thanks for sharing! Any idea on how it compares with “Relationships: A Mess Worth Making” by Tim Lane and Paul Tripp (aside from the fact that it speaks directly to women ;).
