Just in time for Easter, my dear friend, Mike McKinley has released his most recent book entitled, “Passion.” This book is full of meditations about the details surrounding the betrayal, trial, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ from Luke’s account. Mike brings to life many of the details of Luke’s account in a way we can easily miss as we pass through a most common story. Mike stops. Stares. And reminds us of God’s plans and purposes in these amazing details. On a personal note, Mike is one of my favorite writers. If you are unfamiliar with Mike’s books, he writes with a wit and cleverness that has you laughing at one point, then in deep reflection about important biblical truths on another.
Pastors, read this book as you prepare to preach Palm and Easter Sunday coming up. You will find them sweet meditations for your soul as you set to proclaim the passion of Christ. For those looking to give a Non-Christian a book to read this month that is accessible, readable, and keeps anyone’s attention, look no further. Buy several copies of this book and freely hand them out to those whom you desire might come to see the treasure and sacrifice of our Redeemer.
