Purpose
Practical Shepherding is a blog and resource center for pastors and church leaders to equip them in the practical matters of pastoral ministry. We strive to accomplish this purpose through these five areas:
- A question and answer post format about the unique challenges that pastors inevitably face in local church life, but discussions about them are largely neglected.
- A comment section provided with each post to allow follow-up questions or additional thoughts from those serving together in the trenches of pastoral ministry. I continue to learn from others much wiser than I who take the time to share their additional counsel and wisdom.
- Book and resource recommendations that are designed to instruct, inform, and reveal solutions to many of these practical issues of ministry. My intent is to post a weekly book resource recommendation and why this particular book would be profitable for any pastor or church leader to read.
- A Facebook page that will provide additional resources and wise words from some of the most faithful pastors and shepherds throughout church history. I find my interactions with faithful pastors of old stirs my desires and affections for this fine work (1 Tim. 3:1) and reminds me I am not the first to endure difficulties, hurt, and suffering as a pastor.
- Make available my books, sermons, pastoral training efforts, and practical advice for local church life with the hopes that I would be sharpened in my own shepherding task as I field questions and you would somehow benefit through these interactions.
