Pastor, be encouraged–when you patiently stand in the mess with the people God has called you to and tenderly and personally walk with them through hardship, know that you're right where God wants you, among the people He has sent you to serve and lead. Be faithful. Be resilient. Be steady in a world of unsteadiness. Slowly but surely the Lord will shape their hearts and yours as well.

All this comes down to one simple idea. Let it help you do your work, but don’t let it do your work for you. To do that well, you’ll need a good understanding of what your work is as the God-called preacher. Yes, AI has the potential to unhinge a foolish preacher from what matters. But it may help a wise preacher get even closer to his roots.

I knew that if they were not convinced in their hearts that this was biblical and the right move for our church, then it would not last, and as soon as I was no longer the pastor, a day that will come for all of us, regardless of the why, they would simply revert to the way things used to be. It would be like the hymnal situation, but worse. It would almost certainly make it much more difficult for any subsequent pastor to lead the church to make that change, one that they had already tried but did not stick.
